Community Service Tracking |

PIH Notice 2003-17 reinstated the pubic housing community service and self
sufficiency requirement. If you have the Tenant Accounting module
this can be tracked on the tenant ledger in a special column to the right
of Security Deposit. The column will be labeled CommService.
In the Applicant/Tenant file, Household Members screen there is a field labeled Community Svc. This allows you to indicate whether the family member is in the process of meeting his or her prior year community service or self-sufficiency requirements. To track the community service hours you need to go to the Applicant/Tenant file, Tenant Info screen. Select the Fixed Charge option and turn on the Community Service Req'd fixed charge. Enter the effective date which should be the first of a month and then enter the required monthly hours in the amount column. Remember to enter a stop date or deselect the fixed charge when it is no longer applicable. To indicate the hours of service performed you will go into Tenant Accounting, Cash Receipts/Adjustments. Select the Adjustment button and then find the code for Community Service Done. Enter the amount of hours of service performed. By looking at the tenant ledger, you will be able to easily see who is in compliance with their community service requirement. You can also run the Tenant Rent Roll report and see who has the Community Service Req'd fixed charge selected. |
